Our counseling team is fully committed to the vision of Reflect Christian Counseling and to providing care marked by biblical faithfulness and clinical excellence. Each therapist brings professional training and diverse clinical experience, allowing us to thoughtfully serve individuals, couples, and families facing a wide range of challenges. Our team has experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, abuse, panic attacks, divorce-related concerns, childhood and adolescent issues, adult life transitions, ADHD, and self-harm. United by compassion, integrity, and a shared commitment to Christ-centered care, our therapists strive to create a safe, supportive environment where healing, growth, and lasting transformation can take place.

Ryan Briscoe, Founder, Director, LPCC#9152

 

Ryan earned his Master’s Degree in Counseling from Western Seminary in 2014 and has since gained broad clinical experience working in pediatric clinics across Oregon and California. For the past four years, he has been serving individuals and families through his Christian private practice, where he uses biblical truth with sound counseling principles. Ryan is known for his insight, compassion, and thoughtful approach to helping others navigate emotional and relational challenges. His clinical work is marked by a deep commitment to both professional excellence and spiritual integrity. He has been married to his lovely wife for 11 years, and together they are raising four young children. Ryan’s dedication to his family and his calling as a counselor reflects his wholehearted desire to honor Christ in all areas of life.

Pat Middleton, Founder, Director, LMFT#138472

 

Pat Middleton is passionate about helping people see that even in the midst of their pain and the difficulties of life, God still loves them, is still for them, and through Jesus Christ, all things really are possible. He started his counseling career working for a university in San Diego in 2009, completed his master’s degree in counseling for marriage and family therapy in 2014 and has since worked in a variety of settings providing professional therapy to people suffering from tremendous loss, complex trauma, and overwhelming anxiety and depression. Professionally, he’s most grateful for his work at Reflect Christian Counseling, however personally, he’s most proud of his family: His wife of 15 years, and his two beautiful daughters (10yo and 13yo), one of whom has special needs.

Monica Garnica, Therapist, LMFT#157782

onica Garnica is passionate about serving God through her work in counseling, supporting children and families with compassion, integrity, and faith-based guidance. She brings tremendous experience in child and adolescent therapy, and foster and adoptive family services, creating safe and encouraging spaces for growth, healing, and transformation. Monica is bilingual in Spanish and English and incorporates evidence-based approaches such as CBT and Solution-Focused Therapy, all grounded in biblical truth. Beyond her professional work, she actively mentors youth and young adults and volunteers with residential sober living programs, reflecting her wholehearted desire to honor Christ in every area of life.

Dulce Klawitter, Therapist, AMFT#151428

ulce Veronica Klawitter has been following Jesus since she was 14 years old. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience from Dartmouth College and a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist university. 

Bilingual in English and Spanish, Dulce is devoted to serving others by offering spiritually grounded, compassionate support as they walk through emotional challenges, relationship concerns, and life transitions.

She has been married for seven years and is raising three energetic children, and she remains an active member of her church. Guided by Philippians 4:6-7, Dulce is dedicated to helping others find hope, healing, and peace through Christ.

Kelly Patterson, Therapist, AMFT#156142

 

K

elly is deeply committed to helping others grow and walk in truth through biblically based counseling. She works with individuals, couples, and families, with a focus on strengthening relational patterns and promoting emotional health. Kelly earned her bachelor’s degree from Cal State Bakersfield in 2009 and began raising her family shortly thereafter. When her children were older, she returned to school and completed her Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from California Baptist University in 2025. Entering the field after years of experience as a wife and mother, Kelly brings a unique perspective shaped by real-life seasons of marriage and parenting. Her clinical approach gravitates toward Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Family Systems. Kelly has been married for 17 years and has four children- two elementary aged sons and two teenage daughters.

Eugene C. Frey, Therapist, AMFT#156437

 

A

fter one of his sisters completed suicide on February 18, 2015, Eugene was inspired to become involved with SALT KC (Save a Life Today Kern County) – a local non-profit suicide prevention organization and graduated with a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from CSUB in 2025. His experience of having visual impairment has offered him a lived experience perspective of discrimination and oppression. He emphasizes the importance of unconditional positive regard and person-centered therapy through Christ and believes in the Bible as the guidebook for life. Like one’s relationship to Christ, Eugene sees the therapeutic relationship as critical to healing and growth and strives to let the Holy Ghost guide his work. Eugene enjoys activities with friends and family such as computer gaming, walking, hiking, ziplining, sci-fi movies and audiobooks.

Shara Mills, Therapist, AMFT#153876

hara Mills holds a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from Pepperdine University and is a compassionate therapist with a background in crisis counseling, where she supported individuals through some of their most vulnerable moments. Her work integrates evidence-based practices, including DBT, with a faith-centered perspective that emphasizes reliance on God, hope in healing, and restoration of the whole person—mind, body, and spirit. Shara values each client’s lived experiences and seeks to honor their story within a therapeutic space grounded in grace, compassion, and purpose. Shaped by her military service, she approaches her work with humility, integrity, and a heart for service, walking alongside clients as they pursue healing, resilience, and renewed strength through life’s challenges, guided by the promise of Jeremiah 29:11.

Kristen Cabalka, Therapist, AMFT#161191

risten Cabalka’s therapeutic approach is rooted in the idea of hope: because of the faithfulness of Jesus, and through helpful therapy tools, there is ALWAYS hope for healing and hope for growth! Prior to completing her Master’s in Counseling in 2025 from Hope International University, Kristen worked in foster care and adoption social work. Kristen aims to be a safe, compassionate presence for people, particularly those facing deep, dark seasons of grief, trauma, or betrayal. Her greatest earthly joy is her family- her husband of 15 years and four amazing kids. She is also an invested member of a local church family. Kristen would be hopeless without Christ and is honored to bring that hope into the therapy setting.

Susan Futrell, Therapist, APCC#18121

usan earned her Master of Arts in Counseling from The Townsend Institute at Concordia University Irvine. Susan integrates evidence-based practices that include somatic and nervous system work, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and biblical truth to support meaningful and lasting change. She often works with individuals facing relationship difficulties, anxiety, depression, grief, partners of addicts, emotional abuse, betrayal trauma, and sexual assault and/or abuse. She offers a warm, grace-filled space where clients are met with empathy, dignity, and hope as they pursue healing and restoration grounded in both faith and clinical wisdom. Susan appreciates good food, live music, time with family and friends, traveling to visit her children and grandchildren, beautiful art, and relaxing walks with her yellow Labrador Retriever, Belle.

Hannah Rigby, Therapist, AMFT#161360

 

H

annah earned her Masters degree in counseling psychology from National University in December 2025. She has a background in working with children in the community mental health setting in Lake Isabella, CA. She continues to work primarily with children and adolescents, assisting younger clients in navigating trauma, anxiety, depression, emotional dysregulation, and life transitions. Her approach is relational and deeply-person centered, focusing on creating a safe space for healing, as well as integrating tools from DBT, CBT, SFT, attachment theories, and parts theories. Her work is shaped by the hope of the gospel, emphasizing grace, restoration, and identity in Christ while allowing the therapeutic process to take place. Hannah’s passion for this work is personal, shaped by her own childhood experiences with insecurity, anxiety, and adversity. She began following Christ when she was 17 years old, allowing for her own healing to take place. The Lord being a steady foundation in her life has also shaped her work. Her goal is for clients to feel safe, comfortable, and genuinely known as they move toward healing and wholeness.
